My Thoughts Create My World

So January came and went with the blink of an eye. Value #1 that I was focusing on was Act From Love. I found this value comes easily with me most of the time, unless I feel under threat and my "fight or flight" gets activated and I act from fear. Acting from fear is an icky place to be. I know I am not alone with this one. But the great thing about consciously focusing on acting from love was that I was thinking about it each day. Writing it down, repeating it in my mantra meditation and also communicating it to others when I wasn't acting in alignment.

No body is perfect, and I know I will continue to fall down and stand back up. But if I act from love while i'm doing this, not only to me but to the people around me, the world just might be a little bit of a better place.

How did you go acting from love? Did anything come up for you? What did you learn about yourself? I would love to know! Together we share our stories to inspire and help others.

So roll on February and roll on value #2
My Thoughts Create My World.

Read it again and let the words sink in. MY thoughts (everything I think) create MY world (the place you choose to live every day). As humans we have over 60,000 thoughts a day, no wonder we are exhausted by the time it's night. How many of those thoughts are positive or negative? How many of your thoughts are actually serving you with good intentions? How many of your thoughts ruin a moment/day/week? How many of your thoughts are truth? Or are they made up stories/beliefs?

A powerful tool I use to help my clients understand their thoughts more is this:
* Your thought is just a thought, it has no power until...
* You attach emotion to that thought (happy, sad, excited etc)
* Then after the emotion comes the story/belief

When you understand this circle you have more power to influence your world than you ever did before.

Next time you catch yourself thinking a thought that may not be serving you well, and attach an emotion to it, ask yourself:
1) Is my thought the truth?
2) How could I think this thought a different way?

I'm quite positive most of the time, but sometimes my inner mean girl arcs up and my thoughts go cray cray. I now know I have a choice. I can choose to listen to her, attach emotions that don't make me feel good and create a world that isn't too nice to live in. OR I can acknowledge what she says is just a thought, it has no power over me, and I choose to have a different thought that serves me and my world much more positively.

Our mind is the most powerful tool we have! So this month I'm consciously showing up each day through meditation and writing to flex my mind muscle when it comes to positive thoughts.

I would love to know what values you are bringing into the new year.  Comment and connect! Share with me what you are working on or if the two values I've shared with you are important to you too!

Together we inspire to live an empowered life,
Kirsty
