This is all about how you…Yes you reading this! This is about how you can get out there in this awesome world and start moving your body. Now I know we move every day, but how often do you really get out there for 30mins and elevate your heart rate? Get your blood pumping, hips shaking, arms swinging and igniting those endorphins to bring a smile to your face. Now to be honest, over the Easter and Anzac break I had a holiday and completely lost my MOVE IT mojo. Talking to a few friends over the weekend I feel we are were all in the same boat and needed some big motivation to get us back on track. 

But let's not beat ourselves up as life is for living, having a break here and there and treating yourself. But what we all need to do now is not stay in the blah feeling, but instead jump-start your MOVE IT mojo and get active once again.

Do you realise there are more than 600 muscles in your body?!? Helping you stand up tall. Holding your body together along the journey of your life. Your body is amazing and you need to invest in strengthening it for the adventure you are on. Building muscle also helps burn fat. Strengthening and working on your muscles also keeps your heart pumping stronger. Everything in your body works together.

A change in the weather, holidays, social calendar can completely throw out your fitness routine. So May is all about getting that routine back in your life and move move move! You need to tackle it like a date with yourself. Put it in your phone as a commitment, not something you can change your mind on. It's locked in, you wouldn't break a date with a good friend cause you "couldn't be bothered"… that's the attitude you need to have about getting out there and moving. It's a date with YOU. You are the last person that should be breaking dates with yourself!

Now so you don't get bored dating yourself by doing the same thing over and over again, mix it up! There are so many ways to get out there in this fun world and move.

  • Go for a run
  • Grab a friend and go for  bike ride
  • 30mins of weights at the gym
  • A walk around the block
  • Swim at the beach or local pool
  • Stretches down the park or beach - yoga if you know what you are doing
  • Skipping
  • Boxing
  • Dancing
  • If you bus it to and from work get off the stop before and walk
  • Find a flight of stairs and run up and down for 30mins
  • Pole dancing
  • Ice skating
  • Surfing
  • Kayaking

Now I could go on, but what I would rather do is let you think about what you can do. How can you get out there this month and move? If you need inspiration read through the ideas and figure out how you can do some of them in your life! If you need motivation grab a friend and get them to help you! The only thing stopping you is you. My personal goal is committing to "moving" at least 5 times a week. Walk, run, yoga etc To make dates with myself and not break them. To know by the end of this month I will be feeling better, stronger and happy with the progress.

So make a date with yourself. Commit and invest into a strong relationship with a healthy body, mind and soul. Move it in May my friends! But remember, we are all on our own journey, you are not competing with anyone but yourself. Start small, just 5%, and you're well on your way to moving more than you did before.
